A blast of cold air hits you in the face, and the instructor looks at you and asks “Are you ready to skydive?” Butterflies fill your stomach and adrenaline races thru your veins as you give him the thumbs up, and push yourself past the fear, out the door towards exhilaration and terminal velocity… Your heart is pounding… Rain is pouring out of the night sky pelting our umbrella as we make our way down the street to our hotel. Unexpectedly, lightning seems to strike a mere stone’s throw from us and drives us to grasp each other tighter in our surprise. We chuckle as the air crackles with electricity and wait for the inevitable boom of thunder to follow. This seems like a good time to take up puddle hopping, so you scurry from under our protection and land a big jump in a temporary sidewalk lake, dousing the both of us with water and laughter. |
